Notifications are there for follow-through.
WithMe uses them to bring time-sensitive plan activity back into view: messages, host decisions, confirmations, updates, and reminders that help people actually show up.
What Notifications Are For
WithMe may notify you about:
- new messages
- interest on a plan you host
- host selection or confirmation
- plan updates
- Inbox items
- timing reminders
- day-of actions
- important lifecycle changes
The exact notification you see depends on your role, settings, device, and the WithMe state.
Opening a Notification
Opening a notification should take you to the relevant place in the app, such as:
- a WithMe detail screen
- a chat thread
- Inbox
- notification settings
- a create or plan action
If a notification opens the app but the plan has changed, trust the current in-app state.
Notification Preferences
You can manage notification preferences in Profile or Settings.
Use preferences to control the kind of updates you want to receive. Turning off too much may make it easier to miss time-sensitive plan activity.
Email and Push
WithMe may use push notifications and email for different kinds of updates.
Push is usually best for time-sensitive app activity.
Email may be used for certain reminders, support messages, or important updates depending on your settings and the product flow.
If Notifications Do Not Appear
Check:
- app notification permissions
- device notification settings
- Focus or Do Not Disturb modes
- whether you are signed in
- whether notification preferences are enabled
- whether the relevant WithMe is still active
On iOS, push and time-sensitive surfaces may depend on system permissions.
On Android, ongoing notifications or system settings may affect how plan updates appear.
Best Practice
Keep notifications enabled for plan-critical updates if you are actively hosting or joining WithMes. The product works best when people can respond before a plan goes stale.
